Ascent to Taal volcano

Ascent to Taal Volcano

Elevation: 311 MASL
Specs:  Minor
Difficulty:  2/9
Trail class: 1
Trail Length: 1.7 kms.
Time to Summit: 45 min

Taal volcano (the smallest active volcano in the world) is just behind Binintiang Malaki- the first mountain you see in Taal island.

I started my trekking adventures last year. As 2018 begins, I am so thankful that some friends invited me for a hike to Taal Volcano. The day before the hike, we took a bus from Buendia to Talisay, Batangas. Then we spent the night at the Leynes Resort for P1,500.

This amazing view welcomed us early morning of next day.  Wow!

We started the day early to avoid the scorching heat of the sun. We rented a boat for P1,500 good for 6 persons.(round trip)  By 6:00 AM we were on our way to Taal island.

After 30 min, we reached Taal island ready to tread the dusty way up the summit. Behind us is the view of Talisay, Batangas.

Our first stop near the first station. The way up is not that steep. Very suitable hike for beginners.

If you find it hard to climb, one option is horseback riding for P500 but you'll miss the fun of sweating and the company of trekking buddies hehe.

It's good to be there early para solo ang place. By the time we descend, the crowd would just be on their way up..
Any endeavor that would enrich your body, mind and spirit, please Do Not Postpone.

Posing muna sa 10th station of 13. Blood was rushing through my veins and my heart was pounding hard..  hahaha

Near the 13th station, the ground emits hot sulfuric steam that could cook eggs. Sana nagdala kami para luto na pagbalik namin haha.

The trail on the final stretch of the trek to the crater is very steep woohoo! This is nothing compared to my first ascent.

Arriving at the summit, I was awed in astonishment by this amazing beauty! (I don't care if you charge me with redundancy.)
What adjective could I possibly use to express the feeling while beholding this sight in front of me?

Final pose before descending. Thank you my trekking buddies for this wonderful experience. Till next time!

By 10:00AM we boarded the boat back to the resort. We had a satisfying lunch and by 12:00PM we checked out..  Still early? Your adventurous spirit can still lead you to say, Fantasy World or to Puerto Galera haha.

Thank you Taal volcano for enchanting me with your beauty!
Thank you to my trekking buddies for the photographs and memories!
Wait for me Mount Pinatubo!
